I hoping you guys can help me find it again.The article was written by a software company founder. Not a massive company, but they scaled up. They built some form of software, and one of his main points was that all these smaller clients bought off-the-shelf software. Soon, larger clients approached and wanted the software. I just remember that the author wrote that once you start providing software to larger clients, that what the software to be customised, then you stop being a software developer and start being a consultant.I seem to remember that it was published to medium, but i cant for the life of me find it again.

Dear hackers. I am a non-us citizen and was working remotely to a US company for 3 years. While I am a contractor my contract doesn&#x27;t says contract, it says &quot;Employee&quot; everywhere.Yesterday after a week of severe depression episode where I ended up in the hospital they fired me. I suspected they were going to fire me (scheduled 1am call with HR) and I&#x27;ve decided to share with them 3 days ago my Bipolar Diagnosis. Although I wished not, I shared this this because I&#x27;ve read that in the US ADA would protect me and they would have to accommodate me before firing me. My performance never dropped, only my communication. I never stopped coding.This was pure discrimination, and they got away with this because I am not us-citizen. The real relationship with them was employee and my salary was in the six figures.Is there anything I can do? May ADA or similar act legally cover me? They are a well respected and known company. Although I may want to seek some monetary compensation for discrimination, I also am upset they did not care about my condition.If you know a lawyer that can help me, hope this is a precedent and doesn&#x27;t happen to anybody else. I think I&#x27;m further hurting myself by asking this, but putting unnecessary fanboyism aside, which do you think (and why) is the best choice between these two to learn in 2021?I&#x27;ve already had a taste of enlightening Lisp (Scheme) via SICP and actually feel more capable of understanding concepts that were previously unclear to me, however I&#x27;d like some practical reasons for choosing, since neither of these languages can help me much in finding a new job... So it would be a matter of confining them to my personal use.I&#x27;m fairly proficient with Python and Go, plus I use Emacs a little bit for everything, though my Elisp is very basic.

Given the number of open source foundations that many of us depend on, and how thinly stretched the resources are to maintain many of them, would such a monthly thread be a good idea?  The thread would be open for anyone who is involved in a project to post details about the project, what areas are in need of volunteers at the moment (feature development, testing, documentation, project management, marketing, languages used...), and would be a great resource for people getting their feet wet in any of these areas.  Also it can be an avenue for struggling projects to semi-promote themselves without feeling like they are spamming.

On of the top comments as of right now justifies burning a year&#x27;s worth of income, just to stick it to Wall Street.The thing is, I don&#x27;t think anyone at Wall Street is touching this stock right now. The stock price is far too high for a buy grounded in fundamentals, and shorting this particular stock right now can backfire catastrophically, as we have seen.This has the veneer of a crowd sticking it to someone they felt exploited by, but in the end, they&#x27;re just being exploited by someone else.Right now, the only ones benefiting from someone sticking a year&#x27;s worth of incoming into GME are those doing the pumping.

Yesterday I released my project React UI Boutique (https:&#x2F;&#x2F;reactui.boutique) in early access. But during the day I got several comments from people not being sure what my product is exactly about.The landing page was a lot longer and to checkout the product you had to login. My logic was that people who are really interested will login and I would then be able to ping them with weekly updates.But, after this comments, I removed login requirement and really simplified the landing page, basically leaving only the tagline and a link that goes to the product.After the page I got a lot more people checking the product and it started getting upvotes on Product Hunt.Is this landing page clear enough for you? My reasoning now is that if you are not my target customer (person using React and&#x2F;or Chakra UI), you will not get the tagline and will just leave the page. But if you are, you will get it immediately and will be able to click through to the product easily.
